Sevenoaks Town Football Club

Sevenoaks Town’s first record dates back to 1883 when they joined the original Kent League as one of its founder members, though this amateur league only ran for one season. Subsequently reformed in 1906 to join Halstead United, Otford United, and Shoreham United as founding members of the Sevenoaks and District League.

Sevenoaks Town enjoyed great success throughout the 1950s and 60s, winning the Kent Amateur League Western section twice while finishing runners up in both its Premier Division and Southern Counties East Football Leagues before being promoted into Isthmian League South East Divisions. Cray Valley FC have quickly become one of the most beloved non-league sides, drawing supporters from far and wide to watch their games and are quickly rising through the Southern Counties East League under manager Martin Larkin, regularly drawing three figure crowds to each game they host.

History traces their fascinating story back to the 1930s and 40s when they won many East Kent derby matches against local rivals like Folkestone, Dover, Margate and Sittingbourne.

Throughout the 1970s and 80s, the club earned several promotions from Kent County League. At that time they also participated in some notable matches such as the FA Vase final at Wembley. Wally Paxton, Jon King and Keith McGinn all made their debut during this period.

There were many achievements during the 1970s and ’80s that stood out most to fans, including winning the Fisher Shield, Kent Amateur League Premier Division title and finishing as runners up in Southern Counties East Football League.

Our club boasts an expanding academy and youth development program to nurture local talent. The purpose of this program is to train players so that they will have the necessary tools for future success.

This program aims to provide an opportunity for young people from Sevenoaks Town and its surroundings who may otherwise miss out on playing for a first team team to still experience football.

An essential aspect of the program is providing a place where individuals with disabilities that limit their participation in regular sports activities can play football using adaptive equipment and specialised coaching.

This program features open and public weekly sessions conducted by qualified coaches with extensive disability football expertise, held at Recreation Ground for free. Players can register at any time with the club and have access to the equipment, training and a friendly environment.

The program aims to provide an opportunity for individuals with disabilities that limit their participation in regular sport activities to play football in an adaptive manner at Sevenoaks Town and the surrounding area. It is a non-profit organisation and will provide facilities for the disadvantaged, in particular, those living with disabilities and their families.
